I can't wait to learn more about the fascinating subject of psychology. This topic has always interested me, but I've never been able to study it. Thus, I'm extremely excited to explore the different aspects of psychology in the upcoming three weeks with lectures and class discussions.
In addition to my studies, I'm looking forward to meeting new people. Not only will I get to know the students from the district better, but I will meet kids from other states and even other countries. Last year, at UPenn I was able to become friends with many teens even though we came from distinct backgrounds. It was great to learn about how different or similar our lifestyles were. I'm sure I will have the same eye-opening experience at Brown.
Although I am eager to attend a class at Brown and enjoy the surroundings in Rhode Island, I am also looking forward to going out of state. For example, on the 27th the group will be headed to Massachusetts to visit Harvard, MIT, Tufts, and Brandeis. I'm also interested for the trip to Wellesley the day after since it will be my first experience at an all-women college. Also, I am excited about our trip to New York where we will meet up with the Columbia ILC students, explore the city, and take a campus tour of Columbia. I know these college tours will definitely be helpful especially with college applications around the corner.
This experience would not be possible without the help of Mr. Ramsey, Ms. Kronenberg, and the gracious sponsors. I can't thank you all enough for this opportunity.
Once I arrive in Providence, I will certainly post pictures and blog daily about my adventures in the next three weeks!
